Things to do

Trevista is one of the closest holiday rentals to the new RSPB Pagham Harbour Local Nature Reserve. Pagham is in an area designated as a Site of Special Scientific Interest (SSSI) with Pagham Lagoon, Pagham Spit, and Pagham Harbour all within easy reach.

There is so much to do nearby during your holiday. Here’s just a few suggestions to get you started.

Food & Drink

Trevista is in Pagham,  a quiet “village” on the edge of Bognor Regis in West Sussex . It is close to several excellent pubs and restaurants, including The Bear, The Lamb Inn, The Lion and The Inglenook Hotel

There are also numerous takeaways in and around Pagham, many of which deliver. Runcton Farm Shop is a very good nearby farm shop. Plus Leythorne Farm sells its own excellent meat and poultry products.

History & culture

The Weald and Downland Museum is 30 minutes away as is Amberley Museum & Heritage Centre, and Arundel Castle.

The Chichester area is also rich in history with it’s medeival walls, and roman associations.

There are many Roman Villas nearby including Bignor and the impressive mosaic at Fishbourne Roman Palace.

Sports & Activities

Located near the South Downs the area is ideal for walkers and cyclists. The South Coast Cycle Route passes nearby, and it’s just a short journey by car to The Sussex Border Path, and The South Downs Way.

The coastal path is just 200 yards away from Trevista. You can explore also lots of local footpaths around the lagoon and spit, which are accessible from a short walk along the beach. Maps and guide books are provided.

Nature & wildlife

This area is rich in wildlife with the Chichester Harbour area, the peregrine falcons on Chichester Cathedral. It’s less than an hours drive from the RSPB Reserve at Pulborough Brooks and the local nature reserve at Ambersham Common. You can also visit the Wildfowl and Wetlands Trust Reserve at Arundel.

From the beach you can often see Turnstones, Egrets, Spoonbills and Little Terns depending on the time of year.

Days out

Goodwood is just half an hour away. It has motor racing and offers driving experiences. It also has a horse race course, and offers golf, off-road driving, flying and many other exciting experiences.

You can also enjoy a day at the races at Fontwell Park.

If a day at the beach is on the agenda, the Blue Flag beaches of Littlehampton and West Wittering are less 30 minutes away. As is the interesting beach at Bracklesham Bay with seashell fossils buried in the sand.

Shopping

Chichester and Bognor Regis have lots of shopping oppotunities as well as railway stations and tourist facilities. Both are within a 15 minute drive away.

Portsmouth with it’s naval traditions and shopping at Gunwharf Quays is about 40 minutes away.
